When puppies have pent up happy energy, something has to be done about it. Watch this fun clip of Annie, a 16 week old Border Collie puppy releasing some of that pent up energy – it’s too adorable.
The owner calls it the “puppy zoomies”. She zips from one end of the room to the other, greeting her dad along the way. The entire clip is set to the music of Honey Bee Bop” by Slink Moss Explosion, which makes it that much more fun to watch as she makes her rounds across the living room.
A few times you may think she’s ready for a rest, but with a little cue from Dad, she’s up and ready to romp again. This pup continues on, running adorably back and forth, for a minute and half until finally she’s ready to go upstairs, likely for a drink.
Apparently, this puppy isn’t the only dog in town that gets the “zoomies,” it seems as if every pet owner has their own name for it. Some call it “whizzing”; others “blitzing” or “Shitzy fits”. Whatever you want to call it – it’s adorable.
These zoomies are just the actions of a very happy puppy happy to see her Dad. But some dog trainers note that behavior like this can sometimes be a sign that a dog isn’t getting enough exercise. And all of that pent up energy can lead to destructive behaviors, such as chewing and digging. Dogs need plenty of exercise to stay happy and balanced, so make sure that you give your pup the playtime he needs each day to stay healthy and happy.
But hey – some dogs are just a little nutty and have an endless supply of energy. So, enjoy those crazy moments of “bed zoomies,” “whizzing,” or “blitzing” whenever you can. Before you know it, they’ll be all grown up.
